About Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) / Mixed Martial Arts (MMA)
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a martial art and combat sport that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent to submit. Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) combines the martial disciplines of the East and West, and practitioners learn to defend themselves at all ranges from standing at a distance to rolling on the ground. Both activities offer an excellent mental and physical workout, with short, medium and long-term benefits for all participants. Practitioners wear standard training uniform similar to Judo or in regular t-shirts and shorts depending on the nature of the class. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling') and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition. With a high aerobic and anaerobic component, this activity is offers one of the most comprehensive fitness regimes available today.

Our Classes
Our classes create opportunities for realistic workouts, developing self-confidence, assertiveness, and leadership skills, as well as physical coordination, power, and flexibility, while honing valuable personal protection skills. Practices also involve equipment like ropes, pads and bags, as well as working with partners at different levels of resistance.

Getting Started / Enquiries
We offer a number of classes throughout the week for adults. We also offers trial options, so you don’t need to make a huge financial commitment up front if you feel that it isn’t right for you.
Newcomers will be required to register for a two (2) session trial package at $90.00 to assist us in assigning the most appropriate class / level. Participants should be comfortably attired in T-shirt and shorts / sweatpants.
A registration form must be completed and submitted to the instructor prior to joining a class.
Confirmed participants will be required to be appropriately attired for training.
