Grappling is a combat sport that focuses on takedowns and ground fighting with the goal of gaining a dominant position and using joint-locks and chokeholds to force an opponent into submission. Combining the martial disciplines of the East and West, without the traditions and norms, practitioners will learn to defend themselves from different situations ranging from standing at a distance to fighting on the ground.

Practitioners use a standard training uniform similar to Judo or in regular t-shirts and shorts depending on the nature of the class. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling') and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition.

Grappling offers an amazing mental and physical workout, with a huge range of benefits for all participants. With a high aerobic and anaerobic component, this activity offers one of the most comprehensive fitness regimes available today.
