John Will BJJ workshop. Another great workshop by Australia's leading BJJ expert, John Will was held at the Budo Academy. Hosted by the Kreation Jiujitsu team, participants were introduced to the latest practices and training drills to improve their grappling skills. Check back for our next workshop.

SA Team Judo c'ship. Great action at this event with more than 30 teams registered. Kudos to the Jagsport teams for their outstanding performances returning with 3 top spots. A big thank you to the organiser Mr. Tang Soon Onn and his team for this great day. Check out the write up in STOMP.

Sergei Beloglazov workshop. Grappling enthusiasts were treated to a dazzling array of takedowns and pins by Olympic double gold medalist and 6 time world wrestling champion Sergei Beloglaznov during a special workshop at the Budo Academy. Sergei who is currently the Russian National Women's coach, also shared his experiences and delivered a great session paying special attention to each participant's needs. Special thhanks to the WFS for making this workshop possible.

Our first wrestling event organised under the auspices of the Wrestling Federation of Singapore saw more than 40 participants demonstrating their newly acquired skills under the watchful eyes of High Performance coach Chung Tong Kun. Malaysian Judo Circuit 1. Congratulations to Esther Tam who represented Penang at this event returning with the gold medal, defeating all her opponents with ippons. Well done Esther on your first attempt and we look forward to hearing more of your exploits.

Technical Daycamp
Our technical daycamp was successfully concluded at the Budo Academy from 9.30am - 1.00pm. Participants were drilled in form and techniques in the tradition of Kodokan Judo. Congratulations to participants who were upgraded.

M'sian Judo Nationals
Congratulations to Esther Tam who delivered a stirling performance at this prestigous senior event clinching the silver medal in the women's extra lightweight category. We look forward to hearing more of her exploits in the Malaysian judo circuit.

Asian Wrestling c'ship - Seniors
Our very own Melvynna did Singapore proud in Pattaya, Thailand, returning with a credible 5th position in her first attempt at wrestling. While Sul was unplaced in his category, he returned with a wealth of experience given the opportunity to wrestling with some of the best. Well done and keep up the good work.

Asian SAMBO c'ship
A record of more than 500 participants in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, vied for top positions in their respective categories. Singapore's sole representative Mohd Sulaiman returned with a well earned bronze medal in the Sport SAMBO category and an impressive silver medal in the Combat SAMBO division despite nursing a shoulder injury. Well done Sul.

Balikpapan Judo workshop
This year's team comprising Lim Wei Siong, Joshua Leow (SGS), and Esther Tam (AES) had an enriching experience assisting Mr. Gerard Lim with 3 half day workshops for the Balikpapan judo community. Ifugao Invitation, Philippines
Coach Sergey Beloglazov headed the wrestling team at the invitation of the Wrestling Federation of Philippines (WAP). This was an eye opener for our 3 athletes who performed commendably returning with a gold, a silver and 2 bronze medals. Jagsport congratulates our member representatives. 18 & 19 Jul 2009	AIKIDO WORKSHOP Shihan Joe Thambu's well delivered workshop for aikidokas and the general public was wel received. Participants enjoyed 2 full days covering a host of techniques and forms under the watchful eyes of Joe Thambu Shihan who was equally please with the level of enthusiasm. Participants enjoyed 5 fun filled days with our instructors honing their grappling skills and experiencing Chanbara with Master Dave Sabobel. More camps will be included into our programme. 29 Jul - 02 Aug 2009	ASIAN CADET WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIPAloysius Chua (NYJC) & Natasha (AES) performed well at their 1st continental wrestling c'ship in Pune, India. Natasha overcame wrestling powerhouse China in her first match but eventually succumbed to her more experienced opponent managing a credible 5th position.
05 - 08 Aug 2009	3RD TRISAKTI INVITATION JUDO CHAMPIONSHIP Our young team of 8 had a memorable experience at this event which saw more than 400 participants. Graced by the Minister of Sports, the event was well organised. Congratulations to Natasha (<57kg) & Esther Tam (<48kg) for coming in 2nd against their older and more experienced opponents. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child. Congratulations to the children who were upgraded at the camp. In response to requests , we will try and include another technical daycamp before the year ends. We will also be having a special 4 day year end daycamp for children from 28-31 Dec with opportunities for evaluation.

While Wei Siong did not return with a medal, the experience gained from exposure to world class competitors has been beneficial. We can expect Wei Siong to incorporate new training ideas into his workouts to excite and motivate the children.
